Bareos is a free and open backup software that has been available for about 12 years now.
This talk will follow a typical Bareos' backup process, explain how it works and how it differs from other backup software.
While doing that the session will take a look at a few specific features, how to implement the 3-2-1 rule, and other best practices for a simple automated backup process.
Having started with Linux in 1995, Andreas did a lot of network and linux consulting in his life before eventually joining the Bareos project in 2019 where nowadays he improves the software and makes users and customers happy.
